Advanced Computing and Automation

This proposal includes augmentation of computing and networking infrastructure at the Bidhan Nagar campus as well as setting up of computing infrastructure at the upcoming Rajarhat campus. It also proposes setting up of an ASIC design facility and advanced electronics test facility. It also has a comprehensive R&D program for the distributed data acquisition system, parallel algorithm development, vision & visualization, autonomous navigation of mobile robots and societal and medical applications of computing techniques. This proposal has the following major components:

1. Augmentation of computing infrastructure and intra-DAE grid;
2. R & D on computing and automation;
3. Distributed data acquisition on embedded technology;
4. Societal and medical applications of computing techniques;
5. Advanced electronics facility; and
6. Laboratory Space and Computer Centre at Bidhan Nagar and Rajarhat campus respectively.
